Hearing protection for racing events

Protect your ears from start to finish!

The excitement of the race, the smell of burnt rubber and the contagious energy of the crowd make attending racing events an unforgettable experience. With Alpine hearing protection for racing events, you ensure that you don't miss a single moment of the action while keeping your hearing protected from the powerful sound of roaring engines. Ready for the start?

Wearing hearing protection during a racing event is not a luxury. Most cases of noise-related hearing loss are the result of cumulative damage from repeated exposure to harmful noise levels.
The risk of hearing damage depends on several factors:

• How loud the noise is;
• The duration of noise exposure;
• How much rest your ears get in between;
• Your individual sensitivity to noise.

Why should you wear hearing protection during racing events?

The maximum noise level considered safe is around 80 dB. With every single lap, spectators are exposed to volumes between 130 and 140 dB during racing events. If you watched an entire race from the front row without any hearing protection, your ears would endure as much as 85 times their daily 'dose' of noise.

At Alpine, we want you to enjoy your favourite races safely. That's why we have developed different types of hearing protection for Formula 1®️, MotoGP™️, 24 Le Mans®️ and Indy 500®️ racing events.

FAQ

During Formula 1®️ races, spectators are exposed to noise levels between 130 and 150 dB. This can cause immediate and irreparable hearing damage. To prevent this, we supply Formula 1® Racing Pro earplugs and earmuffs. For young F1® fans aged 5 and older, there are the Formula 1® Racing Muffy earmuffs.

Although trackside noise levels at motorcycle races are not as high as at Formula 1®️ races, you can still expect around 130 dB. Our MotoGP™ MotoSafe® Race earplugs, MotoGP™ Racing Pro earmuffs and MotoGP™ Racing Muffy for children aged 5 and older offer the ideal hearing protection for MotoGP™️ races.

At 24 Le Mans®️ races, the noise level can reach close to 140 dB in some places. With the Alpine
24h Le Mans®️ earmuffs (and the 24h Le Mans®️ Racing Muffy for young racing fans), you don't have to worry about that.

As a spectator at an Indy 500®️ race, you will need to endure around 130 dB (depending on where you are sitting, of course) – about the same as NASCAR races. Wearing racing earplugs or earmuffs is the only way to prevent hearing damage during these racing events.
