During the 24h Le Mans® race, noise levels can be so high that they can cause hearing damage. At the noisiest points of the circuit, the peak level reaches nearly 140 dB, which can permanently damage hearing in just a few seconds. To protect your hearing while attending this race, Racing Pro 24h Le Mans® earmuffs with high attenuation are an excellent choice.

Exactly what I was looking for

My previous protectors were so bulky...This one is does the job perfectly and it's easy to carry in my crewbag.

Best noise reduction I've tried yet

We had tickets to a Nascar race in September. Since I have Meniere's disease and am almost completely deaf in one ear, I am careful being around very loud noises. I bought these earmuffs and they were fantastic. I had zero problems at the race with the racing car noises bothering me or hurting my ears.

Uncomfortable

These earmuffs block sound very well but are so tight that I couldn't wear them for long without pain, so, unfortunately, I returned them.

Good however tight

Good but right on the head.

Protect your ears without looking like you are protecting your ears

I was late diagnosed as autistic last year and since then I have looked for ways to help me deal with the very loud and distracting world around me. I’ve used ear plugs but I really don’t like how they feel in my ears. I had another pair of headphone-style ear defenders, but they didn’t really do the job and the headband made it look like I had a post-surgery headgear on — not the look I am going for. I have long been envious of Alpine’s Muffy ear protection for kids. They look like headphones and are smaller but still provide excellent ear protection. When I saw that Alpine sells these I hit Buy Now without even thinking. I have been using them for months now and I can honestly say these are my favorite, go-to ear defenders. I still carry my ear plugs just in case or for short-term use like in class, but these look and feel so good that I generally just have them with me anyway, so I pull them out. They fold up and can go in my backpack or my shoulder pack. They expand a good deal. I have a medium to large head, and they fit me fine at the smallest setting, though if I wear sunglasses then I do expand them a bit. With sunglasses on they do not hurt. I do find that if I am wearing sunglasses and I turn my head left or right I can hear more sound, but it’s not enough to cause alarm. I just have really sensitive hearing so I notice it. If I am not wearing sunglasses then this isn’t a problem. I can understand speech pretty well with them on, and especially if I am looking in the direction of the speaker. I will be taking them on a Disneyland trip this summer and I fully expect to be able to enjoy all the fun without any of the auditory sensory issues that I had last time.

FAQ

Place the earmuffs firmly over your ears, making sure your ears are completely covered by the cushions. Adjust the headband for a comfortable fit.

The difference between the two models mainly comes down to their design. Both the 24h Le Mans® earmuffs and Defender earmuffs offer 26 dB noise reduction. The 24h Le Mans® earmuffs are officially licensed and feature the race logo on the sides, while the Defender earmuffs feature the Alpine A logo on the sides.

For the pads around the ears, the Alpine 24h Le Mans® earmuffs are made of soft and comfortable foam. The adjustable headband is made of durable and flexible material for a snug fit. The housing is made of sturdy plastic.

Absolutely. Conversations and announcements are perfectly understandable with these earmuffs.
