MusicSafe Pro hearing protection is made from durable and flexible AlpineThermoShape™ material. Thanks to the warmth of the ear, the earplug moulds to the ear canal within minutes, significantly improving wearing comfort. The thermoplastic material is hypoallergenic, preventing itching in or around the ear. You can use the earplugs more than 100 times. Every pack contains a luxury travel pouch to store and transport the earplugs conveniently and safely, three sets of exchangeable filters, and a cord to hang the earplugs around your neck. You can easily and quickly clean the earplugs with Alpine Clean, a disinfectant cleaning spray (5 ml), which also comes with the pack.

Get stuck in ears too easily

I want to be able to rate these higher, because they are quite comfortable and they do seem to reduce the volume of music without affecting the sound quality too much. However, I have now experienced one getting stuck in my ear twice and having to have it extracted with tweezers, which has been quite traumatic. I'm a bit surprised that none of the other reviews seem to mention this. I'm hesitant to wear them again because of this risk.

Also, the carry case is poorly designed. It's quite hard to open, which can result in earplugs falling out and potentially getting lost when you manage to prise it open.

On that note, I agree with the other reviewers who say that a spare filter in each colour should be included. I lost one of the earplugs with a white filter fitted, and now I only have a single white filter and have to wear it mismatched.

I really want to be able to rate these higher, because they are quite comfortable and do seem to reduce the music volume without affecting the sound quality too much. But I have now had two experiences of one getting stuck in an ear and having to have it extracted with tweezers, which has been quite traumatic. I'm not sure it's worth the risk to keep wearing them.

Cuts all highs

I have a pair of alpine plugs and unfortunately I only use them for when it gets really unbearable....as a lead guitar player these plugs cut out all the color an nuances....all you hear is an annoying mid range which to my ear is very flat...they do protect your ears but at the cost of your music

Which filter is suitable for my situation?

You can choose your own noise reduction level depending on your situation, your chosen instrument, and the environment in which you play. A drummer will probably need higher noise reduction than a singer, for instance.

Use period and cleaning

Alpine MusicSafe Pro can be cleaned with warm water and soap, or the Alpine Clean spray included with the pack. You can extend the service life of the earplugs by cleaning and maintaining them correctly.
