Formula 1® racing events

A Formula 1® race is a true spectacle. As a spectator, you sit on the edge of your seat as drivers in the fastest cars in the world compete against each other. The Dutch Grand Prix will be held for the last time on the Zandvoort circuit in 2026. That means you only have two more chances to attend a Formula 1® race in the Netherlands! Don't want to miss these final opportunities? Below is all the information you need to prepare for Formula 1® racing events in 2025, including Formula 1® race dates and tips for proper Formula 1® hearing protection.

Formula 1® racing events in 2025

A Formula 1® season consists of 19 to 25 races (Grands Prix). These are held in different countries, either on a specially constructed circuit or a street circuit. Each Grand Prix takes up a weekend. There are usually two free practice sessions on Friday and a third free practice on Saturday, followed by qualifying - this session determines the starting grid for Sunday's race.

Experimental sprint races have also been held since 2021. There will be sprint races on six GP weekends in 2025: in China, Miami, Belgium, Austin, Brazil and Qatar. These short races are held on the Saturday, prior to qualifying.
